EXTRA COSTS TO BE NOTED:

Stationery

A basic stationery list will be provided.

Art & Design

A kit consisting of all the basic art materials required for the course needs to be purchased. Peak Academy will order this kit for you to ensure that the correct materials are purchased. Please note that the cost may change from time to time. This excludes the Art & Design textbook which needs to be purchased separately.

Textbooks

Based on the subjects chosen, cost will vary. Second hand textbooks are available for purchase at the admin office. This is subject to availability.

Scribes and Readers

Should your child require a reader or a scribe during their internal assessments, we would require an Educational Psychologists report not older than 4 years to be submitted to the office. The average cost for an invigilator or facilitator would be R350.00 per paper written.

Cambridge Examinations

When the student is ready to write their final external examinations. You will need to pay a once-off registration fee and then an exam fee per subject. Remember that not all the subjects will be written at once. Please refer to the exam information page.

Graduation Farewell

This is traditionally an end-of-year event for our graduating students. We try to keep the ticket price to a minimum. Tickets for the graduates will be billed to the parent in the January of the graduating year. Should a graduate wish to bring a plus one, this will be billed separately.

Terms and Conditions

Fees will increase annually. Fees are due on or before the 1st of every month. Fees are paid via EFT or Debit Order. No cash or cheque payments will be accepted. We do not offer credit card facilities. Payments need to be referenced correctly with student PA number. If school fees are not paid by the 15th of the month, the account will be suspended. Strictly 3 calendar months’ notice to terminate contract is required, failing which an amount equal to 3 months’ notice will be added to final account for settlement. Accounts in arrears of 30 days or more will be handed over to a debt collection company and may result in black listing.

Additional Courses

AS Lab Practical Workshop
Price
R450

The practical workshops are offered to candidates who are going to write their AS Level Biology, Chemistry or Physics exams at Peak Academy. The lab workshops have been created in an effort to familisarise external candidates to our lab and apparatus, as well as ensuring that external candidates have sufficient practical skills to do well in the practical exam. The price quoted is per practical class and payments must be made in advance after booking practical classes on the sign up form.

Exam Preparation Classes
Price
SQ

All subjects offered at Peak have an examination preparation class that starts at the beginning of each semester and spans all the way through to the Cambridge exam for that subject. This course consists of past paper preparation, class discussions and a mock exam one to two months prior to the exam date. Prices are subject dependent.

Art Classes (Monthly)
Price
R2 493

Peak is offering external students the opportunity to join Peak Academy specifically for Art. This programme is a two year course. The first year focuses on skill development and artist study, and the second year is all about the exam process. The first half of year two is dedicated to coursework, with the second half dedicated to the actual Cambridge exam.

The classes are 1.5 hours each and happen twice per week, and the course runs for 10 months - February to November.
